t is beneficial to have some kind of published written work if you would like to write for us, the editor for the Daily Herald told me. Although I am not a professional writer whose had the privilege of even a single piece of published work at this point, it is a wonderful feeling knowing that with a click of a button within the administration panel of WordPress, viola, a work is published. However, in the pursuit of happiness, I couldn’t feel more than adequate, or any means beyond inferior, without eventually having a true published works.
As it has been said by James Weldon Johnson, written in 1922:
A people may become great through many means, but there is only one measure by which its greatness is recognized and acknowledged. The final measure of the greatness of all peoples is the amount and standard of the literature and art they have produced…. No people that has produced great literature and art has ever been looked upon by the world as distinctly inferior
